90 minutes, one subject, indoors or at a location we agree on together. Includes a 20-minute pre-shoot call, a proof gallery of 40 to 60 images, and 15 final edited files. Good for headshots, author photos and press images.
Three hours on location at your workspace, studio or shop. We photograph the people, the environment and the work itself. Proof gallery of 80 to 100 images; 30 final edited files included. Suitable for website relaunches, press kits and social content.
Six hours, same approach as the half-day but with time to cover more ground: multiple spaces, more people, process shots, detail work. Proof gallery of 150 to 200 images; 60 final edited files included.
90 minutes outdoors or in your home, whichever suits you. We find a time and place with good light rather than defaulting to a studio. Proof gallery of 50 to 70 images; 20 final edited files included.
Up to four hours of event photography, working quietly through the room. Delivered as a curated edit of 80 to 120 images within seven working days. Suitable for launches, open studios, talks and community gatherings.
“Callum made the whole thing feel completely normal, which is the only reason I look like a human being in the photos. I've had headshots done before and hated every one of them. These I actually use.”

A few words from clients. Every project is different, and so are outcomes.
A brand shoot produces a library of images. What happens to that library after delivery is where most of the value either gets captured or gets lost. A lot of businesses use three or four images from a shoot of 60 and leave the rest sitting in a folder. This is a practical guide to doing it differently.
Read the full article →Family portrait sessions have a reputation for being slightly stressful, which is understandable. You're trying to get multiple people to look good at the same time, often including children who have their own ideas about what they want to be doing. Here is what actually happens during a session with Pixel Juniper, and what you can do to make it easier.
Read the full article →Most brand shoots go well or badly before the photographer arrives. The preparation you do in the week before the session shapes almost everything: which spaces look good, whether the people in the photos feel comfortable, whether there's enough variety in the images to build a proper library. This guide covers the things that actually matter.

Before Pixel Juniper, he shot product catalogues for a mid-size outdoor gear brand, which taught him how to make objects look honest rather than aspirational. He started Pixel Juniper because he wanted to photograph people and places the way they actually are, not the way a brief tells you they should be. He reads a lot of photobooks, keeps a darkroom journal even though he shoots digital, and is quietly obsessed with the quality of light between 4 and 6 pm."
For portrait and family sessions, two to three weeks is usually enough. Brand and editorial work benefits from a bit more lead time, four to six weeks ideally, because we like to do a proper location scout first. Autumn fills up fast for family sessions, so if you're thinking about a harvest-season shoot, earlier is better.
For outdoor sessions, we keep an eye on the forecast together and make a call 48 hours before. If we need to reschedule, there's no fee for one rescheduled session. If you'd rather push ahead in the rain, we can usually make it work, but it's worth a conversation first.
